A nationally acclaimed Japanese sushi and steak cafe is coming to Houston this summertime. Roka Akor is slated to open up at 2929 Weslayan and features ingenious Japanese dishes centered close to a robata grill.

The identify ROKA will come from two singular words and phrases, RO and KA. According to the release, “the meaning of the initial term is fireplace, a gathering spot wherever folks socialize and get in the ambience the latter stands for a burning fire and projecting strength.”
Veterans of the model, chef Ce Bian and sushi chef Mike Lim will direct Roka Akor’s opening group in Houston, arriving mid-April to prepare the regional menus and start off schooling kitchen area personnel. The cooks program to include regional substances each time possible into exceptional signature dishes.
The award-successful cafe has gained various honors and recognition, amongst them being voted one of the “Top ten Steakhouses” by the Michelin Tutorial and pointed out in the “Top ten Sushi Places in the United States” by Bon Appétit.
