Christopher Marshburn – Roka Akor Scottsdale Restaurant Manager
A Los Angeles native, Christopher Marshburn is the restaurant manager at Roka Akor Scottsdale and a Level 2 Certified Sommelier. Marshburn’s primary responsibility as Roka Akor’s Sommelier is lending his expertise to patrons and servicing guests on pairing wines with Roka Akor’s vibrant Japanese robata cuisine.
Marshburn’s describes his biggest accomplishments as passing his Level 1 and 2 exams for The Court of Master Sommeliers, dining with esteemed winemaker Paul Hobbs, and throwing extravagant parties for up to 1,000 guests.
Since watching the movie at a young age, “Cocktail”, he was inspired to become a bartender to learn more about the world of wine and spirits. Marshburn attended Mesa Community College before pursuing his wine career.
As a frequent diner in the restaurant scene, Marshburn has high expectations that also translate into his professional pursuits, as he “wants everybody that comes into the restaurant to have an experience that is second to none.”
In between tastings and learning about wine, Marshburn loves to spend as much time as he can with his son Cayden. He is also game for anything outdoors, golfing, and cooking at home.
